The Green Protocol
البروتوكول الأخضر
Multimedia Installation 2025
Single-channel Video, Virtual Reality Experience, and Textile Installation
"The Green Protocol"is an ongoing multimedia project that investigates the mechanisms of erasure, manipulation, and selective narration within our digital and political landscapes.
Using chroma key green, the project renders absence visible.
What is usually designed to disappear is brought into focus, exposing and confronting the systems that attempt to erase it.
The work raises questions about the visible, the invisible, and the manipulated. It asks how vision is constructed, and how absence can be deliberately engineered.

Exhibited at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences, Berlin.
The Green Protocol – Diary
Single-channel video | 2:40 minutes.
Images, animation, and Sound generated with AI, refined and composed in post-production.
An anonymous figure in a green chroma suit moves through quiet gestures, sitting, scratching, waiting, while an unintelligible news broadcast plays in the background.
The video reflects how political noise seeps into private life. Simple human details, like these quiet movements, are usually absent from news coverage.
The figure, undefined and invisible, slowly collapses under the silent pressure of everything happening around him—and elsewhere.
As the credits roll, the illusion dissolves: what seemed real was entirely AI-generated, raising questions about manipulation, presence, and the politics of visibility.
The Green Protocol – Hanging Borders
Textile sculpture, embroidered chroma suit.

This chroma key bodysuit, typically used to erase the body in digital media, becomes a surface for the inscription of geopolitical scars.
Five historical borders, commonly referred to as “green lines/zones,” drawn from real-world zones of conflict and division, are sewn directly onto the suit.
The green suit evokes an anonymous figure, absent, invisible, or excluded. It resists fixed identity, standing not for a nation, ethnicity, or gender, but for the human body as shaped and fractured by external lines of power, linking digital manipulation with political erasure.

The Green Protocol – Mediated Reality
VR Experience | 2:40 minutes
4K | Loop | Spatial Sound

This immersive VR environment transforms chroma key green, a color designed to disappear, into the scene itself.
Through digital effects, shifting lights, and layered sounds, the green space moves between tension, distortion, visual wonder, artificial simulation, destabilization, and void.
The work reflects how emotional and perceptual states are shaped by overstimulation and exposure to mediated realities, a condition that is at once hypnotic and overwhelming, pulling the viewer into a seductive yet disorienting space.
Mediated realities refer to perceptions of the world that are filtered, manipulated, or transformed through technology. Chroma green becomes a metaphor for mediation itself: a site where reality is absent, yet its emotional and atmospheric traces remain.
Here, green is not removed by software, but activated by imagination.
The viewer becomes the narrator, sensor, and emotional decoder of the scene.
